Angela Grant (RAD RTS) is one of a trio of performing sisters, namely Rebecca Grant (Holby City) and Rachel Grant (Die Another Day). She was trained with her sisters from an early age by Miss Nora Morrison MBE at the Nora Morrison School of Dance in Nottingham . She went on to train at the prestigious Elmhurst Ballet School and then at the London Studio Centre.
Angela's first job was with Vogue UK magazine at the age of 17. From there she went on to dance on stage and TV, did commercials and music videos in the UK, Europe and SE Asia.
Angela landed many lucrative advertising endorsements (Ivory, Lux) and appeared on television shows in the Philippines, to name a few, as a guest and dancer in Ford Super model search, and several special guest TV appearances on Eezy Dancing.
Some of her professional experiences include appearing in the MTV video of Toni Braxton's single "How Can An Angel Break My Heart", the Luc Besson film, The Fifth Element and DJ Quicksilver's Bellissima on Top of the Pops.
From 1998, Angela taught classical ballet at the International School and the British School in Manila. With extensive training in ballet, flamenco and ballroom dancing, she also conducted ballet and flamenco classes during her stay in the Philippines.
In 2001, she returned to London, after 2 years of intensive and specialised training to qualify as a Royal Academy of Dance teacher she opened The Angela Grant School of Dance in west London.
Classes commenced at The Park Club on East Acton Lane, in 2009 the school expanded its ballet classes to cover additional locations in East Acton and Wendell Park (near Bedford Park and Chiswick) all of which are in the London Borough of Hammersmith & Fulham and within a few minutes from Shepherd's Bush and Ealing.
In 2019, Angela moved to her new studios in Acton Gardens W3. These wonderful spacious studios with sprung floors, mirrors and barres are in a new development close to Acton High Street, Acton Town, Chiswick Park and South Acton. Angela continues to be at the forefront of dance education and training by attending regular CPD courses at the Royal Academy of Dance. These courses keep her up-to-date with current ideas on teaching, shows her commitment to the dance profession and helps her students reach their full potential.
At AGSD we are proud to be celebrating 100 Years of the Royal Academy of Dance. The RAD has been inspiring the world to dance for almost a century, and on 31 December 2020 will officially turn 100. The Angela Grant School of Dance is focused entirely on teaching classical ballet to children from two years old through to young adults. We pride ourselves, first and foremost, on making ballet lessons enjoyable.
Children may start at any age, from 2.5 years old, and with any or no experience, we will find the right ballet class for them. Lessons are always conducted in correct ballet attire and last for 30 minutes for the very young children and 45 minutes to an hour or so for the older students.
